If you know Comins well then you will know our relationship with Makaibari - you can read our blog here - much has changed here since our first visit - the garden is no longer under the ownership of Rajah. We called by this year during our time in Darjeeling & are pleased to offer this small lot of second flush for you to experience. While you are here we hope you may take a look at some teas from some of the new generation of Darjeeling - small holders working to break free of the large garden monopoly
How to make Malaibari Second Flush Muscatel Darjeeling
Amount of tea per serving (200 ml): 2.5g (1/2 tea caddy spoon / 1 teaspoons)
Temperature of water: 95℃ / 185℉ (boil kettle, cool for 20 seconds)
Infusion time: 3-4 minutes or as desired
Number of infusions: 1
How to enjoy: No milk, no sugar

Provenance: Tea Gardens : Located in Kurseong subdivision and dissected by 3 rivers. Many of the great practices put in place by rajah and his team are still in place - a six tier permaculture system which sees tea growing alongside grasses, fruit trees and the forest helps to replenish and rejuvenate the top soil. In fact 70% of the entire estate is under forest cover. The tea bushes here are part of a multi tiered system of trees
