'May your wishes come true’ Panda Tea Companion  : Lu Yanjiu Studio Jingdezhen

Following our 2024 trip to Jingdezhen we are delighted to be able to bring you a number of pieces from the studio of Lu Yanjiu ; Jingdezhen

Upstairs from the studio of Lu Dancheng his wife Yanjiu sits quietly creating. In contrast to the subtle natural style of her husband she creates playful characters who adorn her bowls, plates and cups. YanJui also creates these beautiful tea companions. Lu Dancheng Explains how ‘some people purchase these as a gift for friends, while others use them as a tea companion’. - this is different from a tea pet as the tea should not be poured over the companion - they are more a cheerful presence at the tea table.

“May your wishes come true” is a beautiful and heartwarming blessing that conveys strength and warmth. It is not merely a wish for successful outcomes, but also a comprehensive blessing for the desires themselves and the process of achieving them.

And what a beautiful studio this is.  Situated right by the river in Jingdezhen they work quietly in this serene space
