Maroon / yellow gold Gaiwan : Lu Dan Cheng's Studio Jingdezhen

Following our 2024 trip to Jingdezhen we are delighted to be able to bring you a number of pieces from Lu Dan Cheng's Studio 

And what a beautiful studio this is.  Situated right by the river in Jingdezhen Lu Dan Cheng works quietly in this serene space predominantly using a grey clay - alternating glazes dependant on the clay used.   His whole style is about making his pieces looked aged 'as if they have lived'.

Lu Dan Cheng explains 'This style can make you feel peace and enjoy tea'.  Since Graduating in 2016 from Jingdezhen Lu Dan Cheng stayed and never left -'I am very fond of it here' he shares. 

Lu Dan Cheng is a very peaceful person living by the river enjoying making pottery.  He shares how he enjoys pottery because in his daily life he stays in his shop, makes his designs and lives his peaceful life in a space he can share with his friends.  'I enjoy this type of working life' he shares and sitting in his studio we can see why.  We are very excited to be able to bring his unique works to Comins and are sure you will fall in love with every piece just as we have!
