The Matcha Whisk or Chasen is used to whisk Matcha into its characteristic frothy form. It is skilfully handmade from one piece of natural bamboo and has one hundred and twenty bristles or ‘tines’, the highest number of bristles that a Bamboo Whisk can have. The large number of bristles creates a bowl of matcha that is especially smooth and frothy. Care for your whisk by wetting it before use. If it is too dry it can be brittle.
