In more depth...

Provenance: Grown in Uji near Kyoto, this tea is produced near the heartland of Japanese tea, the point where the first tea bushes were planted.

Sencha Fukamushi Tea Grade: Our Sencha Fukamushi tea is graded ‘Superior’. It is from the Ichibancha or first flush harvest, the first of the year, taking place in early Spring. This crop is richer in aromas than later teas and more highly prized.

Sencha Fukamushi Tea Origin: This tea is a ‘deep steamed’ variety of Japanese green tea. Usually leaves spend around thirty seconds in the steamer, but with this style they are contained for up to a minute. This process makes Fukamushi leaf particles finer than Sencha and it therefore brews quicker. Before picking and steaming the leaves have been shaded for five to seven days, which develops the smoothness and sweetness, something that compliments the affect of the Fukamushi steaming process.

Sencha Fukamushi Tea Flavour: The process creates a tea with a refreshing grassy aroma, a green yellow liquor and a deep yet mellow taste. It is an excellent tea for those who love the steamed nature of Japanese tea and are looking for a great flavourful everyday tea.
